No Experience Van Build: Stripping the Van

We can honestly say that we never thought stripping the van would be such hard work! But after lots of blood, sweat and tears (quite literally) the van is now empty! and only has a few holes in it……..

We finally have a shell of a van, who knew it would take so long just to strip the van out?! The seats came out fairly simple, they were screwed into the rails which ran the length of the van, so once we figured out how to get the rusty, half-broken screws out, the seats began to come up fairly easily. The flooring and rails, however......that was hard work! The flooring and rails were all interlinked and glued as well as bolted through the van floor making it very hard work to get up. As we tried to pull the wooden flooring up it was just breaking apart.

You can watch the first video in our No Experience Van Build series on our YouTube. This definitely isn’t a video on how to strip the van, but a documentation of how we managed it in the end.

*DISCLAIMER* We are not professionals, this is just our van build including all the highs and lows, at times we might do things wrong. THIS IS NOT ADVICE OR GUIDANCE, this is just us sharing the reality of our build and how we did things.
